All data within PlanLogix is defined and stored in XML format. XML is an very versatile format and can be easily transformed to HTML, PDF, other XML, and printer formats. The industry standard approach for transforming XML is the XSLT language. PlanLogix uses XSLT for all transformation, extracting and reporting tasks. The PlanLogix reporting and extracting facility specifies which components can be used with which XSLT definitions, and what is the destination of the resulting stream.
PlanLogix is entirely based upon open standards. XML and XSLT are widely published standards. There are a wide variety of third party tools and documentation sources available to aid in configuring the PlanLogix reporting facility.
